Lora Robins Gallery Re-Opening
Lora Robins Gallery Grand Re-Opening Celebration
Thursday, August 28
Noon to 6:00 pm
Explore the University of Richmond’s newly redesigned and renovated natural sciences museum. Initially founded in 1977, the Gallery holds over 100,000 pieces ranging from Jurassic dinosaur fossils to rare gems, minerals, prehistoric shells, coral, fluorescent rocks, and coins. The new installation will draw on the strengths of the permanent collection to showcase hundreds of minerals, rocks, fossils, and coins. For the first time, the Lora Robins Gallery will feature established curatorial spaces for faculty and student-led rotating exhibitions. In addition to our new exhibitions, a new classroom space will make thousands of objects in the permanent collection more accessible for teaching and learning.
