Lora Robins Gallery, The First 40 Years: From Found to Finished, Museum Studies Seminar Exhibition opens on April 2 and is on view through October 1, 2017.  The exhibition highlights the origins and characteristics of natural materials and their transformation into both decorative and functional objects. Objects on view range from ancient petrified wood to twentieth-century pipes to Asian decorative pieces.

The exhibition is curated and organized by students enrolled in the Museum Studies Seminar, a course offered in the University’s Department of Art and Art History, and taught by Richard Waller, Executive Director, University of Richmond Museums. The students are Chloe Davey, Minying Gao, Meaghan Hogan, Elaina Lara, Mollie Moroney, Sofia Nicolet, Monica Stack, and Rebecca Tribble.

The exhibition is free and open to the public and are located in the Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature, University Museums.
