Students have unique opportunities to display their own artwork and curate exhibitions at the University Museums.

Senior Honors Thesis Exhibition

The Senior Honors Thesis Exhibition is the capstone experience for graduating studio art majors in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Richmond. Graduating studio art majors are invited to enroll in the honors thesis course to organize and present an exhibition of their art in the University Museums. Students will complete a focused body of work presented in exhibition and will participate in all aspects of the organization. The course also will cover the business of being an artist, including writing about and presenting one's art, resume writing, exhibiting and selling of work.

Annual Student Exhibition

The Annual Student Exhibition consists of student work selected by the University’s studio art faculty in the Department of Art & Art History. This exhibition features works by studio art majors and minors along with non-majors enrolled during the spring semester preceding this exhibition.  

Museum Studies Seminar Exhibition

For students interested in a career in museums, the seminar in museums studies, offered by the Department of Art and Art History as part of the Concentration in Arts Management, is the perfect beginning. Taught every two years by Richard Waller, the executive director of the University of Richmond Museums, the class focuses on the history, philosophy, functions and future of museums. Students research collections, complete evaluations, write publications, study museum procedures and coordinate the Museum Studies Seminar Exhibition.
