Artist Bios:

Alexander Stewart is an animator living and working in Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree with a double major in American Studies and Studio Art from the University of Richmond in 2003. In May he received an MFA through the Art and Technology Studies program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His recent film project Errata has been screened at experimental film venues internationally, including the Ann Arbor Film Festival in Ann Arbor, MI, and the Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival in Chicago.

Erik Loyer Loyer is a media artist whose works explore the intersection of digital narrative, music and interactivity. A video game aficionado equally comfortable writing code, poetry and music, Loyer creates interactive experiences that exhibit strong tactile qualities and a unique synergy. His award-winning The Lair of the Marrow Monkey was one of the first websites added to the permanent collection at SFMOMA, leading to a Rockefeller MediaFellowship for Chroma , an episodic web narrative which won the Best Digital Creation award at the Montreal International Festival of New Media. Loyer's work has been commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles,the MIT Press, and the USC Annenberg School for Communication, and he is currently a Creative Director for Vectors: Journal of Culture and Technology in a Dynamic Vernacular.

Joel Holmberg is a new media artist who lives in Richmond, VA. He is currently a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursuing a degree in Painting and Printmaking.

Lisa Jevbratt is an Assistant Professor in the Media Arts and Technology program and the Art department at University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her M.F.A. in Computers in Fine Arts, CADRE, from San Jose State University. Jevbratt's projects, which have been exhibited and presented internationally, explore the aesthetic, political and cultural implications of the languages and protocols constituting network technologies. Her work 1:1 was included in the 2002 Whitney Biennial and is in the permanent collection of the New Museum of Contemporary Art.

Peter Baldes is an assistant professor in painting and printmaking, Virginia Commonwealth University, where he has been teaching electronic media for the past four years. He received his B.F.A. from SUNY, Albany, and his M.F.A. in Integrated Electronic Art from Alfred University, New York.
