
HPSC@15: A Celebration of the Harnett Print Study Center
HPSC@15: A Celebration of the Joel and Lila Harnett Print Study Center is on view from September 22, 2016 to April 14, 2017, at the Joel and Lila Harnett Print Study Center, University of Richmond Museums. With works representing each of the twenty-six exhibitions that have been on view at the Print Study Center during its first fifteen years, the exhibition showcases prints, drawings, and photographs from the collection. In addition, the exhibition will feature two recent acquisitions.
Exploring the depth and range of the permanent collection, the works are arranged according to the date of the exhibition the piece was shown. In addition to drawings, paintings, and photographs, the exhibition presents various printmaking methods such as etching, lithography, screenprinting, and woodcuts. Highlights of the exhibition include Elm Leaf by Andreas Feininger (American, 1906-1999), Disparate de miedo (Folly of Fear) by Francisco de Goya (Spanish, 1746-1828), Tattoo-Shave-Haircut by Reginald Marsh (American, 1898-1954), The Flying Lesson by Robert ParkeHarrison (American, born 1968), Scene d’interieur by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973), and Night by George Tooker (American, 1920-2011).
